Literature Text

A windy chill where sun should shine
In glowing darkness I resign
A snowy death upon the land
I strangle green with my grey hand

I bring with me famine, death and cold
Ensuring that no one gets too old
I mask myself in purity's hue
And in the night I sneak to you

I am a lion, where my pray cannot flee
Very few can handle me
I am worst enemy, and greatest friend
And yet I win all in the end

With me I shall take the leaves
covering branches like living sheaths
I take the lifeblood of the land
And simply because my power can.

I am November chill and early spring
I have my touch on everything.
Within my girth I hold great joy,
Through magic man, and brand new toy.

The sun can beat to no avail
In my chilly, death-white tale.
I am God and Devil too
and either way, I lay claim to you.

I am Winter, strong and proud.
I both disperse and draw the crowd.
I live, I breath, I stop to die.
And drink the landscape 'till it's dry.
And yet, without my morbid might,
You'd never see such a pretty white.
A poem I made up between rounds at a debate Tournement. ENJOY!
